What will the enamel pins be made of? What are the design constraints?

The enamel pins & coins are made of metal bodies.
High quality enamel paints will be used for coloring designs - a custom mixture developed for quality & safety.
The colors will be based off an approximate colorspace mapping, rather than Pantones.
The metal body can be electroplated in copper, nickel, rhodium or gold.
All products will be varnished with long-lasting UV-resistant clear-coats.
The pins & coins can be any shape – featuring pockets, polished areas, or shallow embosses.
Pockets can be filled with any single color.
A design has no limit on the number of colors.
Designs can be as small as 1/4" – 6 mm – or as large 12" – 30 cm. Design features can be as small as 3 thou or 0.1 mm.

High Quality Products:
- A solid, corrosion-resistant alloy that can last decade.
- Aim for as few as possible visible defects.
- Use of pigments that will not fade after decades of sun exposure.
- Each product will be coated multiple coats of a sturdy varnish which can be repaired at home.
Environmentally Conscious Design:
- Using only non-toxic & cheaply recyclable metal alloys.
- Using only non-toxic pigments.
- No cobalt dryers in our paints.
- Capturing and neutralizing or safely disposing of all fumes & particulates from coating processes.
- Zero chromium and chromates in any of the coatings, processes, or alloys.
- No petrochemical or purely synthetic polymers. We keep to plant-derived resins & mix our own paints to control which additives do or do not go into our paints.
